About

Susanna is a Creative Producer, Programmer, Writer and Performer and has been devising, developing and delivering international projects, festivals, innovative performances and site-specific events for 25 years.

Susanna works as a producer with Certain Blacks (current) and recently with the Coventry City of Culture Trust (2021/ 22) and SDNA on Hackney Revealed Digital Festival (22).  She has worked for Arts Council England, Mayor’s Office, and spent three years with the British Council Sub-Sahara Africa Team.

Susanna was Director of Shoreditch Fringe, StreetFest and Croydon Summer Festival, and Creative Producer for Create Kings Cross and the Arrivals Programme, which celebrated the opening of St Pancras International with site-specific projects happening within the station, railway lands and heritage buildings undergoing redevelopment.

Susanna is a graduate of Brunel University London  (2019), where she was awarded a distinction for her MA in Creative Writing (Short Fiction and Screenwriting.)

Her streetwise urban character La Vicsene is one of the resident poets at The Poetry Brothel, a monthly immersive spoken word event. Recent performances include Boomtown Fair,  Hillview Festival, the Horse Hospital, Electrowertz, and Bath Fringe.

She began writing professionally with a comedy trio in the nineties and has since written and performed under many guises, including Kate Irate and the Piquant Poet.

She has written short stories, edited cultural reports and articles, and was a Writer in Residence at 101 Outdoor Arts, a unique creative space cited on the former cruise missile base at Greenham Common, where she ran a Symposium and writer’s Lab on writing and outdoor performance.

Alongside producing and performing, Susanna runs Creative Writing workshops and, when not writing, can be found cycling around East London on the hunt for inspiration!
